December ACT 2008 English

yeah, "back room" is a compound noun. I think it's proper to say "tall, handsome man" though because there are two adjectives.

Back can be an adjective. The compound noun would be backroom, no?

I don't think back is an adjective in this case.

in this case back room is a compound noun

dusty back room is describing the room in the back that was dusty

back dusty room is awkward and doesn't make sense

i'm pretty sure its "dusty back" as back is not an adjective here

Well, you can say "That room is dusty" but not "That room is back"

Crap that's -1 in E if it's not dusty,back...how many can I miss and still get a 36 in E?

this suit is black

what about the magician one? it asked "if this sentence was taken away, it would lose information about:" I put it would lose info regarding the man's magician side and his photo side or something similar to that.

Yeah, it was it would lose connection between his magician side and the film side.

^ yeah that's what I got.

^ Same.
10 Char

I put dusty back rooms. If you switch them, back dusty rooms, it doesn't make any sense.

What did you guys get for the African American painting one. It was the first question of that passage and it asked: blah blah blah ___ Eight African American Woman sewing a cloth in their laps.

,
that
.

I chose the period.

I chose period too.

yeah the dusty back rooms one really bothered me because you're supposed to put a comma between adjectives but not if the adjectives don't make sense without each other or they're closely related or something and dusty, back sounded awkward to me so I put dusty back but I honestly think it's debatable

What did yall put for the one with "whet" as an answer choice?

answer was C for the whet one

For the whet I put "disturbed" as an answer

hipster we have like the same answer for everything lol...

I was also wondering about the "Among...groups, were those..." you were supposed to omit the comma after groups because the phrase is followed directly by a verb right? and the one about best illustrating the different places of adventures and Liana's enjoyment or whatever, was it the answer with from Arizona to Argentina, Nairobi to New York?

^ Same. I put disturbed.

Whet means "stimulate or to make keen/accurate"
