I am entering Calc BC next year and we get Ti-89s when school starts. But since I am doing SAT prep this summer, I want a calculator that will last me this summer to college (I am a junior atm). I hear the nspire-cas and ti-89 is banned for their cas features. What is CAS and why is it banned. What calculator is the best that will last me all the way through high level math in college and is legal on the sat.

CAS stands for computer algebra system I believe. I have the ti nspire cx, but not the cx cas and I was able to use it on the ap chem exam. I think you can use it on the sat, but not act

TI-84 plus silver edition.
