Hello all,
I am very confused about my decile rank. My school size is about 250, and I am ranked in the 7th decile. Does this mean I have a better GPA than 70% of the grade, or 30% of the grade? Am I around 180/250, or 75/250? I cannot determine it and I am stressing out.

Why not simply ask your school?
I would guess it counts from the top (top 10% being the first decile), so you’d be in the top 70%, or better than 30%.
All of here can only “guess”.
If you want the definitive answer, ask your school.
Does anyone know if the lower the decile rank, the better? (Or vice versa)
I’ve seen it used both ways. You need to ask, or look more closely at any related information you have been given.

Are in the top half of your class or the bottom half? You must have some idea how you compare to others.
