nothing here in Florida

Nothing here in CT

Same. Nothing in CT? Sunny2, do you think we will get our tomorrow?

Well, good luck to everyone. :)

It is possible that they send the letters out in batches. My son was accepted to Union last year. I don't think he heard until March 30th or 31st that he had been accepted. There were other students reporting their acceptances on CC at least a week earlier.

did anyone get decision in email?? i have been told by a guy in cc that he got an email informing him of his admission decision in email..btw we both are internationals..

Wait, this means that we might not get an letter until April 2nd.Waiting is killing me... Lets hope we get a response sooner than later.

Son received the large "it's all about U" envelope today here in CT. Looks like they do send the letters out in batches so don't give up hope.

I was accepted today in MA :) it's a nice big envelope.

I got rejected. They said that they weren't able to offer me a spot as an "international student", but I am not an international student though. Guys, what should I do?

S got his letter on Monday (3/26) in MA. Large envelope, accepted with a presidential scholarship and offer to apply as a Union Scholar.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but you don't have to be a Union Scholar to take the presidential scholarship, correct? S isn't sure he wants to do the sophomore independent study project.

Also, there's nothing in the Presidential Scholar letter about the requirements for renewing the scholarship annually. Is there a minimum GPA? I can't find this anywhere on their website.

OK, now we are REALLY confused. Our D received her acceptance letter today. Now we have to figure out whether it will be the best fit for her. What do you all think are the BEST things that Union has to offer?

Son got accepted today (in Mass). He was offered a Presidential Scholarship which was a nice surprise but I didn't notice anything about applying to be a Union Scholar. I'll read it more carefully...

i got accepted today...lot's of financial aid, too!
what were the requirements to get into the Scholar program?

got rejected... received an email !!!!

My son is a freshman at Union. The Scholars Program does not have to be joined to get the Presidential Scholarship Grant. I have no idea if there is a minimum GPA to retain the scholarship in future years. Regarding the Scholars Program, if your son joins it as a freshman he'd have the advantage of being in a smaller freshman seminar class that usual; the better teachers tend to teach the honor's seminars. He can opt out at any time.

Same thing Maiby. Presidential Scholarship grant but no invitation to the Scholars Program which sounds interesting what with the smaller freshman seminar class. Any thoughts?

The Scholars Program Invite, I believe, came under separate cover last year.

Son (graduating senior) also received a Presidential Scholarship. (Also with little information!) Students do not need to maintain an average to keep scholarship and scholarship is for all four years. The amount will never go down. However, tuition has gone up quite a bit all four years and the scholarship has not changed. Scholars Program has some perks: student can take a fourth class with no extra charge and the freshman precepts classes are smaller. Son took some interesting day trips (DC, NYC) with his and other scholars' precepts - I don't know if the other classes do this also.

Thank you fiona-

Do you know if the CT Scholars Program is the same one you mentioned that comes with extra perks?

What is your personal opinion of your son's experience at Union?
