Decision Help

It has been my dream since I was born to attend the University of Florida and I submitted my application the day it came out as well as I believe I have good enough stats to be accepted for Summer B 2017, but I know decisions do not come out until February and am extremely nervous and cannot get it off my mind. Can anyone help with the stress/personal experience to help me get through now and February? Any help is appreciated!

I feel the same way about other schools and I keep checking even though I know it won’t update. I think it will wear off soon and you begin to think about other stuff like high school. We are all anxious but it bet the decision will come faster than expected. Just try to keep your mind off it and focus on other schools(if you applied). Good luck

Our son had the opposite problem, but ironically it might help you. We heard for years that it is tough for homeschoolers to get into UF (though I never understood exactly why, at the time, until we started the process), so he applied just as a long shot, “reach” school, not expecting much to come out of it, though he did put considerable effort into his application and essay…

In the meantime, he applied and got accepted to 7-8 other schools (one or two came in after UF). He knew in September of 2015 that he had a great deal coming from at least two other universities. That was fun, and exciting, and really he didn’t think much about UF until the acceptance came in (I will say that I cried and he was shocked).

So my suggestion is to cast your net and see what else comes in. It gives you confidence to know that you have options.

Our heartbreak school was GT, but now I’m glad he didn’t get in!

Seriously, it will work out for the best. Don’t limit yourself!

PS: After Round 1 of exams at UF, the bloom is off the rose LOL.

JK, he still loves it. But it’s tough too. Lots of smart kids, and it can rattle confidence.

@SouthFloridaMom9 Be prepared for 4+ years of griping about this test or that test…it only gets worse (in engineering/stem).
