Decision Time with UMD and NC-State

Really could use some help here. International student (but US Citizen) admitted to NC State College of Engineering with Computer Science Major with a financial aid of $10K per year and then UMD College Park surprised me yesterday (Like a April Fools Joke) with acceptance to the CS program !!!

Now I am in a real dilemma. Should I take the NC-State CS with 10K offer (Works out to $35K per year) or the UMD offer (at $47K per year, don’t know about Financial Aid Yet). Is UMD’s CS program significantly better that it is worth it.

NC-State being in the RTP area provides significant opportunities for co-op, and internships and jobs after that.

Any advise would be appreciated.

I cannot speak to how NC State and UMD stack up against each other (I did not look at NC State and no clue how UMD’s programs compare), however the close proximity to Baltimore and Washington DC for UMD offers many opportunities for internships and jobs as well.

Thanks @acs116 . That is another aspect that goes well for both schools. NCSU is near Research Triangle Park, home to lot of tech companies and they provide plenty of opportunities for co-ops, internships and jobs.
