ACCEPTED! Pre-Political Science

dragon, most colleges do not release transfer admissions until 1 month later than hs applicants

dragondawg, it's pretty obvious they're freshman applicants since they keep listing stuff that us transfers don't have to worry about, like SAT score.

archileta, from the SB site: "Posting of transfer decisions will begin March 17 and continue until May 1."

In on pre-business/economics

Rejected...3.0ish GPA, 2340 SAT I, top prep school...I give up, Jesus. UCSC rejected me also. I had a lot of EC's and everything too.

I also got rejected. Oh well.

Did you apply to USC and UCLA? You actually have a better chance at these schools with their holistic reviews (will take high SAT's and the rigor of your school into account). Did you apply anywhere else in California?

Rejected

10char

Yes, I applied to USC (my #1), UCLA, and Berkeley...I just threw Berkeley on there for the hell of it, it's not a realistic school for me given my GPA but I am hoping for an acceptance from USC or UCLA.

I also applied to Loyola Marymount as a safety, but no word from them yet.

Thanks for the encouragement, it's been a little disheartening to get rejected by UCSB especially, since I really love the place and was looking forward to having it as an option for next year.

I take it that UCSC and UCSB have very formula-driven admissions?

ucsc i know is a point system, i wouldnt be surprised if ucsb is too

So far I've been rejected by every UC I've applied to...UCSC, UCD, UCSD, so I'm pretty sure I got rejected by UCSB too. I'm not going to check...can't take so rejections in one week.

It could be that highely accomplished applicants might get rejected from schools like Davis and SB because those schools see that they also applied to UCLA and Cal and SD and will be accpeted, and have a higher chance of accepting an offer from thore latter colleges than from them, therefore they instead extend an offer of admission to students with lower stats, because those are the ones that are mor elikely to send in their SIR.

Wouldn't that make sense?
