Decisions Class of 2023

Now I got an admitted students day email but Im assuming thats just for academic acceptance considering I still have gotten no physical viceral response yet just assumptions. Anyone else get this email?

@antmicvel We got that email too. I was told by admissions last week that everyone should receive notification by the end of this week via snail mail letters. Not sure if calls are done, but I guess we’ll all know pretty soon here. Keep me posted when you get yours. We are on the West Coast and will probably get ours last - ugh!!!

Generally acceptances came in the form of a phone call - but just to add, my d received her letter stating she was on a very “short WL”. She was redirected to AA or TS program. She really loved Wagner and was going to go there either way. She was one of the first to come off the WL and received her call the evening before Accepted SD. When we arrived the next day, they called us in an gave her a new acceptance letter into the Theatre Performance program, along with additional scholarship money. She had several friends she had made on the audition circuit that were also there that day and they both came off the WL as well and are current TP students. I think it was cool that they gave her a new acceptance letter and everything - they went above and beyond to make that day very special for her. As I mentioned before, quite a few in her class came off the WL. If Wagner is your childs top choice and they are on the WL - make sure you reach out to the counselor (our acceptance letter (redirect) came with a personalized note from the counselor - so D reached out expressing she was very interested in Wag and coming off WL) Good Luck!

No call yet and nothing in the mail today… :((

In contrast my son never received any acceptance phone call - just the big acceptance mailer. It came early in March, but we are on Long Island so it did not have far to travel. Hope you all get good news soon!

Turns out the call was an acceptance!! I am offically accepted to the Theatre Performance program! Wishing luck to all!

Here’s to hoping for good luck and blessings for all of us this week!

Official no with redirect came snail mail :frowning:

@MTmama42 so sorry to read about the no with redirect.

@MTmama42 - so sorry about the redirect. If you really love the school quite a few kids go in as AA or TS majors and reaudition for next year. Also, AA and TS majors can audition for everything.

Hi! My daughter is a Junior Theatre Performance major at Wagner. But she wasn’t always! She did not get in when she first auditioned, but loved the college so much she took a chance, enrolled as an Arts Admin. major and reauditioned during her Freshman year … and got in. While she was a Freshman, she was in a black box production; in fact, everyone, from students to professors, assumed she was in the Theatre Performance program. If you really love this school – and there is so much to love – you might consider staying. There are plenty of opportunities for non-Theatre Performance majors to get into shows, and it happens pretty often – just look at any “playbill.” Also, the Theatre Studies, Arts Admin. and Theatre Performance majors are all friends; there are no rivalries. This school has opened up so many doors for my daughter. I just wanted to let you know my story.

@loveandcruises couldn’t agree with you more! My daughter loves Wagner!
