could anyone tell me what they think a financial aid package would look like for a household income of 50k with two people?

BigLee, you mean dual wage earners but icome of a household of (at least) three people, don’t you? There are tax benefits and FinAid ramifications of each schild in the family.

Where are you from, by the way? I’m from Massachusetts, and was nervous applying out of state, as my stats weren’t stellar haha

Did anyone apply to the Honors College? Has anyone received an acceptance yet?

question for those of you who found out the decision through the online portal:
where did it say accepted in the portal???
and also when did you apply??

It is in the Application Review- there is a column that says Decision: Accepted. The column isn’t there if they haven’t made a decision yet. I applied for the Dec. 1st deadline.

Accepted from Georgia
weighted:3.8 unweighted: 3.6 (honors and ap)
ACT: 25
Had a lot of extracurriculars and community service

Hey guys, congratulations to everyone who has been accepted already!!

I got my letter on Valentine’s day, which pretty much was an amazing V-day gift for me.

I’ll just post some of my info in case it helps anyone out.

I’m an out of state transfer student coming from 2 years at a community college in Southern California.
I have a 3.8 GPA and I am a communication major. I’m involved in 3 clubs on campus and I’m a member of Phi Theta Kappa which is an honor society for community colleges.

I also applied to the Honors College and I just got an email from them last week saying they have all my required documents and my application will be processed shortly… but I haven’t heard a yes or a no back from them yet.
So if you’ve gotten into Charleston but not the Honor College yet, don’t panic! Because the honors college is a second acceptance process that comes after the initial one.

My application was filed during the “regular” deadline period (I missed the early notification deadline by 2 days, I was so bummed lol!)

The strange thing was my acceptance packet was sent to my mother’s house (whom I haven’t lived with in 2 years). I listed her address as my “permanent address” but put my own address for my mailing address… but admissions got it backwards I guess.

Anyway, my mom brought me the packet all wrapped up in pink wrapping paper (because it was V-day). I had no idea what it was and when I opened it and saw it was a huge envelope from Charleston I got really excited. On the corner it saw something like “Your future starts here…”.
When I noticed that it was addressed to my moms house I immediately felt bummed because I was SURE that it was just a random information packet or something that they send out to everyone. But it turns out it wasn’t so I’m pretty stoked!

Also, I just want to let anyone know who applied during the “regular” admissions period and you haven’t gotten any letter yet… don’t worry. Because before I got accepted and I was calling to check on my status, the people in the admissions office told me that I wouldn’t be notified about a decision until the first half of March. So you’ve still got some time, don’t give up hope yet :)

Is anyone going to accepted student weekend? I’m unsure about going since I live so far away and flights are so expensive.
Can anyone clarify for me the point of accepted student weekend?
Are they going to have activities and things planned for new students to meet each other?

Or is it more of a “come see the campus and take a tour if you’re not sure if you want to attend yet” kinda thing?

Because I’ve already taken a tour of the campus and had meetings with staff and seem the dorms. So I guess I’m just wondering if it’s worth it to go.

If they haven’t made a decision yet, should I still see the “Decision” column? Next to it, it says, “All Required Documents Recd” and I assume this means they have received all required documents and are still reviewing my application. I could be wrong though, does anyone know if this means I have been denied?

Bmwinborn, the spot where it says “All Required Documents Recd” will be where it says either accepted or rejected (at least that’s how it was for me)
