Yes deferred. Didn't want to go there, but my mom made me apply.
34 ACT, 4.1 weighted GPA
Probably because I blew off the entire EC section.

my 2 friends were defered as well.
one has a 26 act, 3.5/4gpa and lots of work experience

the other has a 35 act and 4.7/5 gpa

defering a lot of people this year

Thanks Cupksdad. Sweet, I'm in..

can someone who got into comm. post their stats.
This was the first year they were accepting freshman apps. to that school, so I wanted to see how the overall stats for them looked

cooljay - That's not what I was told when I visited. If that's true, then they completely screwed me over. Now I'm ****ed off.

Silver-- Did you apply to one of those departments? Here's what U of I's website says:

Admission Notification
There are two admissions notification dates: December 14, 2007 and February 15, 2008.

If you apply during the Priority Filing Period, you can view your admission status online on December 14, 2007. Please note that the online decision is not final until you receive official notification of our decision through postal mail. In some cases an applicant will be deferred, and a final admission decision will not be sent until the second notification date of February 15. Should this be the case, there is no need for you to submit a program change request, as you are still being reviewed for your requested program. If your application becomes complete after November 10, or you are deferred on December 14, you will be notified of a decision on February 15.

Students applying to Art Foundation, Theatre Foundation, and Dance: The final notification date will be March 15, 2008.
Students applying to Music: Priority filing does not apply to music applicants. You will be notified by March 15, 2008.

4.0 Weighted GPA
32 ACT 12 Writing
So happy and looking forward to next year!

The deferred results come out on Feb 15th and not March 15th

is it really obvious where to check your status (a big button right in the middle of the admissions page maybe) because I'm on an iPhone right now and there is a big space with a broken link of something right in the middle top of the admissions page.

4.5gpa on a 5.0 scale
31 act (28english, 31 science, 31 reading, 33math)
Great extra curricular activities, including a varsity captain and a club president position
Thought my essays were good

was a bit surprised, the gpa must've been my downfall

no - it is not obvious - it is buried in with the rest of the admission information -- does not particularly stand out -- you are better off getting to a terminal and not doing this over an iphone

cooljay - Well, sh*it. I applied to Art Foundations. That makes me mad. I busted my ass to get my application done early only to find out that it didn't make a bit of difference in when I'll hear back. Yay for colleges contradicting themselves...
