I am currently practicing my SAT Critical Reading sections. Last summer, I got a 650, and my PSAT was a 69. However, this summer, I starts with the 660, 730, 650, 650, 650, and just now with a 570. I am really desperate to at least score over 700's (of course, I want to get it close to 800, but I lost some hope about that) I study vocab whenever I have time, and occassionaly read some Time magazine articles. What should I do?

I am a rising junior, and my GPA ranks in the top 5 in my school, and I am really sad about my SAT score, espcially with the CR.

Any help or advices will be appreciated.

Are you getting more of the passage-based or sentence-completion questions wrong?

On the sentence completions, I usually get one or two wrong. Reading passages, I can get one passage perfect and another passages with three or four questions wrong. On the passages questions, it seems to me there are always two that look right, and I almost always choose the wrong one.

There is a good thread by noitaraperp (and of course silverturtle). Anyway, this first one sort of outlined a few tricks on how to effectively use your time and reason through answers. You’ve taken a lot of practice tests and scored without much improval, so I don’t really know what else there is to say.

I read some of the threads posting here, and I find out that I usually only read the explanation for the questions I miss, maybe I will start incorporating that technique.

Also, another question, if anyone is reading this, how do people able to practice their SAT during the school year, espicially when your schedule is so busy and tight?
