<p>As far as I'm concerned, dog fighting is a sick activity, but it doesn't deserve the incredibly attention it's gotten. Rod Smith beat his wife. Probably a lot of NFL (and NBA and MLB, etc.) players do. Most of them go to nightclubs, a lot probably hire prostitutes. </p>
<p>IMHO, dog fighting is on par with getting a sex change surgery or being homosexual. I consider spousal abuse and the like to be a good bit worse, and none of that anywhere near as barbaric as practices like abortion, which I'd consider equal to canabalism. That's what I think. Flame me. This'll probably get pulled anyway. </p>

<p>dogfighting is pretty cruel. so is when people beat their pets becasue its not the dogs fault.</p>
<p>i do think that people care way way way way way way way too much about pets in this country, personally i think that everyone should eat all the stray pets. that way people+animals dont go hungry and plus dog meat tastes good. people who are lonely treat their pet like their kid its kinda sad.

<p>Well, the animal shelters put down a lot more dogs than Michael Vick or any dogfighting friends did. I mean its sort of hypocritical when there are too many stray dogs, and then when someone adopts one (albeit for a gambling circuit) and it dies then its looked down upon, but euthanizing dogs when there is not much space, or they look sickly and not likely to be adopted remains perfectly fine in America's eyes.</p>

<p>Sibelius: You have pretty warped morals if you consider homosexuality or sex change surgery even in the same continuum of badness (that's if you even consider homosexuality and sex changes bad in the first place).</p>
<p>Dog fighting involves forcing animals to cruelly fight each other, and eventually killing most of them through cruel methods. Homosexuality involves someone loving the gender that they love, and most of the time having private, caring relationships that harm no one. I am astounded you consider the two comparable.</p>
