Defered Grades

I was deferred from Umich I noticed that above the LOCI it said:

Please note: Given the high volume of applicants to the University of Michigan, this form is the only expression of continued interest that will be considered. Therefore, additional information/communications sent outside of this form will not be added to your application.

Does this mean that you cannot send in your updated grades? bc I now have a 3.97 so I feel like that would make a difference in my application. Thanks.
(It is not asking me for my fall grades)

When my D applied two cycles ago they did allow for mid term grade reports to be updated by the GC. Hopefully someone closer to the current cycle will chime in if they allow that this year…

Look at the bar in the middle of the page and click “Decision Postponed”. It contains this message "We have decided to postpone making a decision on your application at this time and your application will be moved into our regular decision pool for consideration. Your high school counselor should submit any new Fall-term grades that are available on your behalf through the Common Application/Coalition Application.

If your interest in the University of Michigan continues, please fill out the Expression of Continued Interest form in your Action Items menu.

Any requested items are due by February 1st."

Also don’t rush the Loci. Spend some time on it thoughtfully. Don’t repeat what you wrote in your essays.

You are expected to have a midterm update submitted to the common app (or whatever application service they also use nowadays). It will get to them. Then write a letter of continued interest if you are genuinely interested, not if an acceptance is solely for boosting your ego. That’s pretty much all you can do. Nowadays, there are no set of grades and test scores that ensures you will get into UMich.
