Deferred and now a C in AP Chem?

So in the past week, I got deferred from Brown ED and took all of my finals. As it turns out, I have a C in AP Chemistry. Just a flat out C. I’m in the lower C range and the teacher will not offer any extra credit or extra assignments (I already asked), so its basically a done deal. Besides chemistry I should have straight A’s, maybe 1 B at the most. Does this mean I don’t have a shot at Brown anymore?

Some background info: I come from a highly competitive public magnet high school with a specialized humanities program that has sent many former students off to top 20 schools. Last year we sent 3 to Harvard and a few to Penn and Brown.

Not only that, I’ve taken all the AP classes that my school has to offer, not including Bio. This semester I’m taking my core curriculum (isn’t counted as AP but 2 AP style classes that are definitely challenging) plus another 4 AP classes-Euro, Lit, Calc BC, and Chem, and a period for baseball. My unweighted GPA is rather low, like in the 3.8-3.9 range but I have a 4.2 weighted GPA. Our class is ranked by weighted gpa, and I’m currently ranked 10/740. Other stats include a 2150 SAT, 32C Act, and a fair amount of EC’s that I’m dedicated to, although I haven’t cured cancer or anything.

Another side note:
I play baseball for my high school team, and this year was the first semester that we had 0 period workouts/practice. This means that as a team we were required to show up to school at 6:00 am for practice and work out for 2 hours until school began. Then we would all go through our school days, and come back for practice afterschool. It’s a big commitment to say the least, and I definitely emphasized that on my application.

So do I still have a chance at my top school?

It’s definitely not going to help you out when your semester grades are sent in.
