Found out via cofc.edu today that I was deferred. 3.30 GPA, 1260 SATS, tons of ECs, good rec :( To simplify it, this sucks. Is there anyway to heighten my chances for acceptance after being deferred?

I'm not sure man, from what I was told, C of C is receiving a record number of applications this year, and its the most competitive application year in the school's history. Maybe take SAT's again? I really just don't know what to tell you, I'm struggling with this too. It might end up being a situation where you might have to go to another school for a semester and then transfer down. Minimum amount of college credits you need to be eligible to transfer is 15. Like with me, I passed the AP US History test last year, and got 6 college credits for it, and I'm taking Dual-Enrollment Classes that is being coordinated with the community college in my town and i get 6 credits per class. I'm taking 2 this year so when I graduate college this year I'll hopefully have 18 credits. That might be an option for you too. You might as well apply to other schools too. If you want to stay in SC and near a beach, Coastal Carolina University is up the road near Myrtle Beach, I'm applying there, its a pretty nice school. Their standards are a lot easier than C of C's. Unless Coastal is having a record application year too. We'll just see, good luck man. Maybe I'll see you down there sometime.
