Is it true that deferred applicants can send additional material by the end of January? What is the specific date?

Deferrel letter just states "by the end of January". I guess Jan. 31?

Yeah, however, I'm just going to say goodbye to Princeton now. Additional material helps if you improved in something significantly in these past few months. But since I was deferred with my 2340 (that will not change), #2 rank (that will actually go down, even though my GPA went up), and haven't won anything noteworthy, my mental health will be better off if I let it go.

Will it help if my new SAT score increased 110 points from my deferral SAT? Will it help if I send another letter of recommendation from someone (new info-I improved inside and outside the classroom) and a letter telling that Pton is still my first choice?

The SAT increase is considerable.
Rec letter will depend on how they spin it, if they make it sound like an amazing accomplishment.
Your letter probably won't help, but it might actually hurt if you don't send it, so... yes.

Is there a such thing as an embarrassingly large number of supplementary letters? Some people I know are planning to flood admissions offices with dozens of letters from their church leaders, parents, more teachers, and friends after a deferral.

Hair Potty: Just 2 days ago, you said you applied to Princeton for the wrong reasons and were glad you were deferred because you now realize it was a mistake & you would not be happy there.

Why the change of heart?

Because everybody expects me to get in.

Yea, but is that where YOU truly want to go?

I doubt it. I just want to get in. I might change my mind about Princeton if I get accepted.

Since your heart really is not into Princeton, do you not believe their decision to defer you was a legitimate one? I mean, they want high STAT applicants who also want to attend their school. Maybe they are doing you a favor and you will end up at a school where YOU really want to attend, not where people expect you to attend.

Good point.
