and also...what do you guys think is better? colgate or hamilton?

bump please

Slight Reach - Tufts
Reach - Cornell
Match - Colgate
Safe Match - Hamilton

Wow, you were deferred?

yeah BC is getting very very competitve as of late

My friend got into BC EA and she said the rest of her classmates were deffered or rejected so BC is def. on the rise. In the Northeast its as popular as the ivy league, so many people from each area apply.

yeah, the worst part of my application was :

white/male/long island
all-boys competitive catholic school

they probably see this so much

but any1 else want to chance me?

^^I feel your pain.

Me:
White male/Staten Island/Competitive All-Boys Catholic School

Enough of that though, here are your chances:

Tufts - match/slight reach
Colgate - match
Hamilton - safety
Cornell - slight reach

Tufts is just as hard or harder to get into than Cornell.

It seems that whenever I post Cornell and Tufts people seem to argue about them against one another. Is there some rivalry I don't know about?

And anyway, why Hamilton a safety and for the other chance a safe match. Isn't it just as hard to get into as Colgate?

Thanks Hepstar

it's just becoz tufts' his first choice and he applied there ED so he wants to make himself feel better

Um. No. Tufts' acceptance rate is 26%; Cornell's is 29%. That being said, they're just as hard to get into -- especially for comparable schools such as the engineering & A&S schools at either place (the AgLife school at Cornell, for example, probably brings their acceptance rate up).

According to PR, the acceptance rate at both Cornell and Tufts is 27%, with Colgate 28%, BC 29% and Hamilton 36%, and, in general, have seen it easier to get into BC than the first three. I've seen data on the Cornell website showing that the acceptance rate going back historically between CAS and CALS within 1% of each other.

^ ^ ^ ^ According to Cornell's admissions website, the acceptance rate for all colleges combined was 29% last year. According to Tufts' admissions website, the acceptance rate for all colleges combined was 26.6%. That being said, theyr'e probably comparably competitive. They're both reaches for you, Lucacrispat, but not impossible. You'll probably get in to Colgate and Hamilton! Good luck!
