Deferring Wait List?

Is that allowed?

No, that is not allowed. You accept or you decline. It’s important for Vanderbilt and for other waitlisted students that the class of 2016 fills ASAP, so you can’t hold your spot while waiting for something else.

However, you can accept your waitlist spot and decline it later, I think… Though you may sacrifice your matriculation fee.

Ouch…now I’m not so sure I want to be taken off the waitlist, because I got this scholarship to study abroad a year for free…
By “declining it later,”–you mean that you have to decline it before the school year starts, right?

Well, yes. It’s really in your best interest to figure it out now.

Just out of curiousity, are RD/ED admits allowed to defer a year?

You ARE allowed to defer for a year if you get accepted off the wait list. I was wait listed last year and asked the same question

Oh, thanks for the info Zamar!
