Degree Advice

Is there any significant difference between Biology BS and BA in getting into medical school? Most of the AP credit that I got will be better optimized for a BA degree and perhaps I'll even be able to skip a year. With the BS however, it will probably only amount to one semester. What would be the best degree to go for?

i had the same question. i heard that BA is for more broad things, like med school, but BS is where you want to focus on scientific research and things like that. i'm not too sure but that's what i heard, i have the same questions as you...

take whatever will allow yourself to make the higher gpa

Umm, the easier one? Haha.

I'm a bio major and at orientation they told us that if we want to be doctors to just get a BA because it's easier and you really don't have to take that much biology. Besides, the med school isn't going to care what your undergrad degree is. I'm getting a BS, and I'm not really planning on going to med school. It's not something I'm dead set on or anything, but I'm leaving it as an option.

I've heard that too, that the BA is for going to grad school (like becoming a medical doctor or lawyer), and the BS is if you intend to become a Biologist specializing in whatever option you picked.
