Hello! I was rejected for Fall 2020 Transfer at Wellesley yesterday and today I received my aid award from Boston University - a grand total of $8,395. Aside: The ad at the top of the page right now says “An affordable education: BU now meets 100% of financial need.” Yeah, right. I’m a transfer student. I’ve been upset today because I’ve been working so hard these past few years and thought that I could at least go to BU, but I can’t afford it.
Anyways, my community college has no idea what the College Report is, and it’s taken me over three weeks to find someone who could fill it out for me. Boston College already withdrew my application because I wasn’t able to submit it on time, and I’m worried about my other apps. It was not submitted to Wellesley, and I feel it may have played a role in my rejection. My application is not the best, but I think the missing College Report may have worsened it some.
I had filled out the CSS Profile three weeks ago, but it took my dad much longer to get the noncustodial part filled out; he just finished it this weekend. I think that played a part in the low amount of aid I received at BU.
How much of a role would these missing materials have played in the decisions I received? I’ve been disappointed, and I know that it’s not the end of the world, but it worries me about my outstanding applications.
