Dell Inspiron vs Macbook

Go for the Mac!

Better design, OS X is built a lot better than Windows, and VMWare allows you to run Windows, if you don't want to let go of it.

Also, from my experience, Dell's quality isn't so fantastic, especially since they're focused on value.

PM me if you want to know more-I'm pretty obsessive with checking where I've posted, so if you say something here I might respond too.

Macs are much better than the Inspirion series. For Dell XPS or Latitude, it would come down to personal preference- the build quality of those machines is much better.

defianitely get the macbook, mac os x is the best operating system ever made. It is the most reliable, stable, easy to use, and advanced operating system ever made. Also with a mac you can run os x and windows xp vista or windows 7 so you have the ability to do so much more than what you can do on a dell or any other pc. Also you are very less prone to viruses on mac. As long as you dont download torrents or go to places that you should not you will be fine. that cant be said with the dell. So defianetly get the mac.

As a rising college sophomore, I will say that Mac’s are very “trendy.” (Not derogatory at all–I’m currently typing on one–but just a general statement.) This is my first Mac computer, which I bought last summer, and I’m now very pro-Mac. I thoroughly enjoy OS X, and it was a really easy transition between the two OS’s, since Apple intends for their products to be very intuitive.

My old model white plastic macbook has outlived and outperformed every Dell we have ever owned. Son’s $1100 high end Dell Studio 15 from 10 months ago is all ready dead–it won’t even turn on. Even though we have the complete care on the machine, I can’t be bothered with having it fixed. It’s not worth the aggravation–especially going through the initial telephone calls with Dell. Most of the time, I can’t even understand what their saying because of their heavy accents.

If you have the option to get a macbook, go for it—better reliability, less stress, easier to use.
