Democrat or Republican?

that's just wrong

You know, its the Liberals that used to be the Bible beaters. what happened?

Or or needles full of HIV...better yet...Nancy Pelosi wearing a blood stained faux fur coat trying to inject conservatives with AIDS and steal your money to give it too welfare

bmands2- werd...people dont realise that up through kennedy that the dems and liberals hold the same ideals SOME republicans and most conservatives hold today

And back in the late 30s early 40s, it was the Democrats who were war hawks and the republicans who were the anti-sematic isolationists. Now its the other way around, and Democrats can't stop brow-beating israel. I suppose each side in the future will say "OK, times up, time to switch agendas again."

For clarification, I don't like Bush's policies, however, I think he'd be an amazing guy to just hang out with. -_-;

Very true. Let's go over some situations.

Me: Hey, let's have a beer.
W: Awsome! Let me tell you about this time I got Cheeny drunk. He was so wasted he went after condi like Ted Kennedy after brunettes! But Tom DeLay beat him to it. Wooohooo! What a night!

OR

Me: Hey, let's have a beer.
Kerry: No, I'm too high class for that. How about some imported vodka
Me: Umm, I don't think I have any but-
Kerry: Did you know I won 3 purple hearts?
Me: Yes, John, every-
Kerry rambles on and I loose interest, though he is so engrossed in his story I draw a mural on his chin

hahahahaha...goodtimes.

I dont particularly care for Bush...but give me him over Kerry any day

Democrat :)

"You know, its the Liberals that used to be the Bible beaters. what happened?"

It was like that in Canada, too. The celebrated founder and leader of Canada's leftist/socialist New Democratic Party (NDP), Tommy Douglas, was an evangelical Baptist preacher. If ol' Tommy were around today he would likely be branded a "brainwashed zealot" by the NDP because of his religious fervor.

Somewhere over the last 30 years or so, liberals abandoned religion. So religious people, by and large, have followed suit and abandoned liberalism.

Probably was the abortion thing

What you don't see anymore, thankfully, is the racist, bigoted, segregationist Southern Democrat

Ah, good point.

If Democrats and Republicans played a football game, it would be the worst game in history. The Reublicans would constantly turn the ball over, and the Democrats would punt on second down.

sweet analogy...accurate

Hahahah I liked the hypothetical scenario, bmanbs2.

..I'm a very liberal Democrat (socially and fiscally).

"And although the Democratic party is really disorganized, at least it's not corrupt."

LMAO

I love how so many Democrats are blind to their own party's corruption and bias.

Anyway, I'm fairly Moderate and am not affiliated with either party.

I'm Pro-Choice, for Stem Cell research (and am beyond ****ed at Bush about his stance against it), hate the Kansas educational system with a passion, think prayer/religion has no place in school, and (while I don't support Gay Marriage) really couldn't care less about it and think it's up to the States to decide whether they'll recognize it or not.

At the same time, I absolutely can't stand today's Democratic party, strongly believe that Hillary Clinton is the spawn of Satan (and that her husband is a complete moron), am for smaller government, think gun control is a joke, support Israel, and think there needs to be more done about our illegal immigration problem.

I lean Republican, though, because of my intense distaste for the Democratic party.

So, if some kid prays by himself in school, what would u do?

bmanbs2, very realistic. :D

bmansb2, it's really not hard to understand at all.

If a kid is praying by himself, indepently, the Constitution of course protects his freedom of religion. (Unless he's disturbing class or something) If the state requires him to pray, sets aside time for prayer, subsidizes prayer, etc, then it's breaches church-state seperation and is forbidden.

That's their right. They also have a right to pray with other students in a group. It's not their right, however, to force everyone to pray along with them.

My school prayed before everything...and if you didn't stand up, bow your head, and at least give the appearance of praying along with them, people would hassle you and some teachers would even give you detentions for "disobeying" them.

It's fairly well known in my school that I'm not religious (since the overwhelming majority is...and it's small so everyone knows your business), but the school still tried to make me give the invocation for the Academic Awards Ceremony. They didn't ask or tell me before hand, either. Needless to say, I refused to do it.

think gun control is a joke

[/quote]

Noooo! Bad evil guns kill innocent people all on their own :(

I don't think there's anything wrong with allowing a minute of quiet time for people to pray in school as long as you're not forcing anyone to do it...
