At my daughter’s CC you can look online at each class session to see the number of kids currently enrolled i.e. to see if the section is full. I’d spend an hour or so tonight trying to find a challenging class or two that is not full. Yes, try to choose classes that are guaranteed to transfer (is there some agreement in this state between schools?). But if you can’t choose those classes, then choose classes that will interest you, get the As, and get into honors next semester so you can have priority enrollment.

The other thing you can do is find out which clubs are the most vibrant and join a couple of those.

yesterday, I was able to get into an anthropology class. Pretty much the only class I can get into. Problem is I dont know if it counts towards my engineering major. Does anyone know if it counts? On IGETC, it does but things may be different for my major.

Also, the professor for Intermediate Algebra sent a reply back. She said the classes dont begin till late October and enrollment hasnt begun for the class either so I’ll be sure to register on time for that class when it starts enrolling.

you are good then, but the fastest way to transfer out is to knock out pre-reqs that satisfy both your major pre-reqs + and area of IGETC. so try not to overlap or do too many classes for 1 area.

basically you want to knock out 2 birds with 1 stone and transfer out as painlessly and efficiently as possible.

if you arent able to add classes and end up being stuck with just anthro…start focusing on your extra curricular activities. build up an extensive list. you can also do PE classes as some are transferrable. just make sure you know which ones and how many they allow to transfer over. they are ez GPA boosters.

the one bit of good news is that I got a reply from my math teacher. She said the class doesnt start for another month or so and enrollment for it hasnt begun yet, so I can enroll for that class.
