Depression among interns.
This is a double edged sword. If these residents seek psychological or psychiatric care, they may be required to report that treatment to their licensing board during license renewal or when they apply for privileges at a future hospital. I’m not sure if most depressed residents would risk having their depression become a future liability. But if they don’t seek help, well, tragic outcomes may occur.
