I’m facing a major dilemma:
For the past four years, I have struggled with Latin. My grades were:
8th grade: C+
9th: A
10th: A
11th: B+
I don’t enjoy the class and decided not to take the AP Latin course this senior year. Instead, I am taking AP Bio (along with AP Chem)
However, I’ve been told that not taking Latin senior year will harm my college application.
I am going into premed. Will not loading up on sciences hurt my chances? As it stands, I have gotten As in all sciences except my junior year, where I got a B+.
Please help me make the right decision. Many thanks in advance
<p>If you really don't enjoy Latin..then don't take it. Besides, you are premed, you should be taking the sciences.</p>
<p>I would just love to take bio instead of latin. But according to some college admissions counselors, it will "raise red flags because I am dropping something and not showing persistence"</p>
<p>not enjoying this college process right now :/</p>
<p>Are applying into a premed program or wanting to major in a science in college? I'm not an admissions officer, but I heard that they take passion into consideration...if you show that your passion the sciences/premed, then they probably wouldn't care if you dropped Latin. You've already took four years of it.</p>
