I have taken the ACT once (in February 2014). I prepped a little bit in summer of 2013, but not much. I never took any practice tests, and I didn't study anything in the weeks leading up to the test. I hadn't even taken the PLAN test that year. This was my score:

Composite: 30
English: 33
Mathematics:26
Reading: 31
Science: 28
Writing: 8

On math, I remember only finishing about half of a section with five minutes left and bubbling in random circles for the heck of it before time was out. Clearly there's some room for improvement.

Here's the thing: I want a 34. maybe a 35. Is that completely unrealistic? If not, how can I attain my goal (or at least come close)? I only have FOUR weeks.

I have a Baron's ACT book (the blue one). I also have the red SAT one. I have 4 sessions with a private tutor (i've already been to two and we accomplished nothing besides learning strategies) and a three day crash course with the same tutor and a few other kids during the week leading up to the test. The tutor thinks I can raise my score to a 32, but I don't think that's good enough for the colleges I'm interested in. I'm willing to work, but I'm pretty busy with final exams until the 26th (the test is june 14th fyi).

What should I do? I know that in order for me to grasp concepts, I usually need to do a bit of practicing. Are practice tests helpful? Is my goal of a 34 or 35 too far fetched? especially for this short period of time? I don't wan tot have to take it again in September, after senior year has already started!!! HELP
