Details: Most Simple Wedding vs. Most Extravagant

Oh my gosh, that is the kind of excitement I’d gladly miss!

Some less dramatic wedding mishaps included a relatives’ wedding where the wedding party was trying to take photos at an estate that had a waterfall. We all hiked down in our wedding finery but it was very slick and slippery because it rains a lot and sure enough it was too boggy to get to the spot on where the photographer had thought would be ideal. Everyone had to trudge back up the muddy trail and then try to remove the mud from their outfits prior to the ceremony.

Another near crisis was when the flower girl had a nosebleed all over her white satin long dress in the interval between the wedding and the reception. Fortunately a family member was able to skillfully remove all traces of blood by some means unknown.

Lastly, I was taking wedding photos before my wedding when I realized I didn’t have my veil. My brother drove over to the place where I had picked up my gown to fetch it and they kept claiming they didn’t have it until they finally found it. Phew!

never been to a truly extravagant wedding…

My nephews wedding featured the traditional cookie table – this is hundreds if not thousands of cookies, usually made by closest family. In this case, grandmother of the groom.

fast forward to this year, and the grandmother passes away. My single niece is now particularly sad thatshe will never have a cookie table a la grandma.

When my sister is cleaning out thehouse, theyfind about20 dozen cookies neatly packaged and in the freezer, labelled “for [niece] wedding”
