diagnostic LSAT

I went ahead and bought my first LSAT prep book and I scored a 163 on the diagnostic test, with my worst section being the logic games.

From your own experience with diagnostic tests, does a 163 translate to a good score (over 170) after a lot of studying?

Are the logic games the easiest part to study for, or the hardest?

A 170+ is plausible.

A 170+ is within your reach. But winding up with another 163, even after studying, is also plausible. Just a warning from someone who baselined in a similar area and, despite studying and strong practice scores, didn't see nearly the dramatic gain that I hoped for (and had been led to expect). You could take the test a second time and score a 168 or a 158...kind of a coin-toss. But congrats on starting with a strong score. You're in a good place from the beginning :)

I concur with student based on my experience and that of friends. Among people with similar baselines to you, we saw increases of -1 to +4 points. Some of us took classes (Kaplan, I think) while others studied on our own. I liked the Logic Games Bible book.
