Diagnostic Test

I received some sort of an email stating that I need to take an online test of Chem, Phy and Bio. :)
I know it's a new thing from 2012 as stated in the email, so I'm wondering, what is it used for?
I mean, are there long term consequences?

I'm not worried at all; well, I'm pretty good in them :P . Just curious about what are the results used for.
And also a bonus if you know what's in them. :P

It will have no impact on your experience at Rice or what classes you can take. It is just so they know what our class’s experience with science and math is like.

What do they do with it? Is it for statistical purposes?

Why do my comments need to be approved before it will appear?? Arghh :frowning: :frowning:

@Antarius, I was told that it was for the advisors to correctly advice us on our class plans during O-Week… They said it will have no real impact other than advising because it’s, well, advices…

I advised at O-Week last year and we did not have any information related to the diagnostic test. If anything, it could be for statistical purposes as well as selection for the Rice Emerging Scholars Program (http://firstyear.rice.edu/RESP/</a>)

@joanlawson - Thanks for the info. Do the PAAs use this? or the actual OWeek advisors?
