^^
hey that's cool.
Where are you from?

tbhnams, I applied to "Dick" too. :P And accepted. :D

@aritct: Im from Vietnam
@eslite: =))..That's cool:D..So that makes 2 of us products from the Singapore A level system so far rite:))..

So far....:)

rejected from oberlin............

OK, guys, I know if most of you didn't post their stats profiles, they probably don't want people going around asking about their scores... Still, could you tell me your approximate score ranges? I just want to get an idea of who got accepted/rejected/waitlisted at Dick this year :)
Thanks!

ps: I'm waitlisted :). SAT total: 2160

hehe, i got 2120:D.

D accepted with 2280 SAT 34 ACT

tbhnams, see that's unfair :)!

anyone got into gettysburg yet??...I presume ppl who have been rejected have already been notified...isn't it?...does that mean who haven't yet heard have been taken in??

=))..Oh well, who said life is fair lol:p..

tbhnams, see that's unfair

No, not neccessarily.
If tbhnams showed a lot of interest and really wishes to enroll in Dickinson then I definitely think that he should have been offered admission instead of loads of 2200+ guys who consider Dickinson as their safety college and will ultimately never enroll.......

Same thing happened to me......even though I did have a 2210 SAT (combining last 2 tests), a guy from my school had a 2270 SAT and I'm guessing the only reason Dickinson rejected him and accepted me was because I showed a lot of interest in Dickinson (like mailing the profs, the international student adcoms etc. etc.) while I don't think that he e-mailed Dickinson at all.........
Everyone else from my school was waitlisted though, with lower SAT scores.

Then again, SAT scores aren't everything......

I had a 2040 in SAT and didn't show much interest. The only time I e-mailed them was about completing the applications. LOL. And I applied for finaid and there was a section requiring us to list the other schools we applied to and I did and it was obviously a safety.

So I will say they look whether you "fit" in the school or not as claimed by the e-mail I received yesterday.

^^
yeah even I got that e-mail.....
hmm......maybe the "Why Dickinson" essay mattered a lot then.......

I know what you guys mean. And I knew it before applying. And I did email them (not sure they answered every time, but I still introduced myself and my interesed, etc). And the funny thing is I actually WANTED to go to Dickinson! :) Well, if I were to choose between Harvard and Dickinson, obviously Dick loses. But that's the only case. My "why dick" essay wasn't amazingly interesting to read, but it was honest and well-written (meaning I showed my absolute proficiency in English as an intl stud).... Still, I'm not angry at them, but they could have asked me if I wanted to go there instead of just wait-listing me hahahah :))))

I was waitlisted too :(
I'm freaking out because so far the only place I've been accepted is NYU (that too the GSP, AND it's totally unfordable) and I've been waitlisted at Franklin and Marshall and Dickinson. I guess a lot of people are... sigh.

LOL! You guys really have to stop calling the school "Dick," especially if you're going there. (You do know what it means in American slang, right?)
