Did I screw myself over by getting less than stellar grades Junior year?

Last year, I obsessed over my grades. I tried really hard and never procrastinated.

Sophomore Year~
First Semester:
Honors Chemistry- 98% (105% weighted)
Honors Precalculus- 92% (99% weighted)
Spanish 3 Honors- 95% (102% weighted)
10th Grade Honors Literature- 98% (105% weighted)
AP World History- 94% (101% weighted)
AP Environmental Science- 96% (103% weighted)
Second Semester:
Honors Chemistry- 97% (104% weighted)
Honors Precalculus- 96% (103% weighted)
Spanish 3 Honors- 97% (104% weighted)
10th Grade Honors Literature- 95% (102% weighted)
AP World History- 94% (101% weighted)
AP Environmental Science- 99% (106% weighted)

However, this year, I've been slacking. I study less even though my classes are so much easier than last year. This is bad because this is the year that matters the most for college and I feel like I destroyed my shot at being successful in the future. I want to study Pre-Med at UNC Chapel Hill. Getting in out-of-state will be hard enough as it is, so I'm just now freaking out at my bad (in comparison) grades. My class rank from Sophomore year was 11 out of more than 650 students, but I feel like I may move down to 18 or something if I keep getting these low As!

Junior Year~
First Semester, as of now (not finalized yet):
Spanish 4 Honors- 93% (100% weighted)
AP Physics B- 93% (100% weighted)
AP Biology- 96% (103% weighted)
AP Lang- 96% (103% weighted)
AP Calc AB- 92% (99% weighted)
Drama- 96% no weight :(

My question is:
Do I still have a shot at Chapel Hill even though I've dramatically regressed. I'm upset with myself because if I put minimal effort in I could have been in the top 10 when would have helped me to get in! akshdgshgowsighowsghoswihg so frustrated

Please shut up.

It all depends on who your competition is, but I’d say yes.

Don’t bother applying to anything but state schools - you’re epically screwed

Better get started on that community college application right away or they might not accept you!

Stop being sarcastic and tell me about my chances at Chapel Hill!

You probably won’t get in.

/sarcasm

But really it depends on how hard your school is, and your SAT/EC.

For example, your grades at my school would be simply amazing/legendary and could easily get you into low tier ivys and all the ucs.

If your school is on the 10-point percentage system (90-100% is an A, 80-89 is a B…) then you have straight As and you really can’t get better than that. Plus, my school’s transcripts don’t show percentages, they just show letter grades. I think most schools are like that, so it doesn’t really matter if your grade is a 90 or 99, it’s reported as an A either way. Check what your school’s transcript looks like, it might be the same way. Either way, your grades are awesome. Keep working hard and get straight As next semester and you’ll be absolutely fine. As for your chances at UNC-CH, I have absolutely no idea just based on your grades alone. No one does. It’s hard to get in out of state, there’s no getting around it. Top applicants get rejected, so there’s no telling what will happen.

Your grades haven’t dramatically regressed and you have nothing to freak out about. Stop worrying.

Just want to raise the point that for OOS, it’s about $45k p.a. And medical school will cost between $160k (in-state) and $300k (OOS, private).

Make sure you have access to that $340k-$480k before you get too sold on Chapel Hill.

bump???/
