Did I screwed my chances?

I am a freshman, I've completed 12 credits this fall. I went through some problems so I ended up with a very low GPA (2.0). I want to study M.S Financial Engineering in a highly ranked university later ( Columbia, CMU, NYU, Boston, UChicago...). I still have 123 credits to complete, it means 8 semesters). I am going to work really hard and I will manage to do research and prepare for the GRE. So my question is: Did I screwed my chances? also, what is the average GPA to get to these universities? Do I need to have a 4.0 or something like a 3.7 will do it?
Thank you very much.
(I am really worried)

Relax and work hard for the rest of the semesters you have left and you can possibly bring up your gpa.
