Hi everyone! I'm new to the website because I'm getting more serious about school now.
I just finished my freshmen year of college, and I messed up... I failed 4 classes in my two semesters with few B's and A's (I know it's horrible) planning on retaking all of them into letter A grades. I failed because I didn't believe in myself, and I was depressed. I finally moved on from what was making me depressed, and before, my future career goal was quite uncertain; I wasn't sure if I really wanted to pursue that path but I told people I did. But now, I realized that it really is what I want to do. It's a concrete, solid goal of mine, that is why I am very serious about this.

I plan to be a cosmetic dermatologist. With those grades I mentioned above, and receiving grade forgivenesses on them into A's, will I be okay? That is, if I continue on my school with majority of A grades of my classes? Maybe a one or two B's... I have a 2.5 GPA right now; and if I increase that to, say, a 3.7 in my sophomore year, I'll be highly considered right? Because I was told colleges understand that a lot of freshmen mess up their first year, but give them a chance to redeem themselves after.

The basic plans I made are:
1) increase GPA into at least 3.7
2) review MCAT books early to score well for my junior year MCAT exam/passing MCAT
3) seek internship for sophomore summer/shadowing dermatologist
4) in spare time, read a basic dermatology book so I can be ahead of other students

How are my plans? Please give me motivational advice, and your opinion of my current situation. Thank you so much!!!
