Did Saban land in Austin at 10:01 p.m.?

another funny:

[Alabama Coach Nick Saban Paged at Austin’s Airport | Bleacher Report](<a href=“Alabama Coach Nick Saban Paged at Austin's Airport | News, Scores, Highlights, Stats, and Rumors | Bleacher Report”>Alabama Coach Nick Saban Paged at Austin's Airport | News, Scores, Highlights, Stats, and Rumors | Bleacher Report)

OMG!!! Someone page good ol Gus at the ATX airport ;)

A friend of a friend’s cousin said that prior to his party leaving for Dallas, Coach Saban’s jet was seen at the Memphis airport and that Coach Saban and his agent was also seen at a restaurant in Memphis (near Graceland) having dinner with a fellow that looked very much like the “King”. Long sideburns, still jet black hair, still overweight! Sorry Malanai but this definitely busts your placement of Coach Saban. “THANK YOU,THANK YOU VERY MUCH”! Elvis has left the building!!

“Terry and I are very happy in Baton Rouge. I am not a candidate for any NFL job.”

“I am not going to be the coach at Alabama.”

There are other similar quotes.

You people are delusional about this guy. Some of us have been onto his schtick for years, because we were locked into it when he was still at Michigan State. I’m not saying he’s leaving or not leaving. But you can’t believe a word the man says.

And for the other side of the story:
[Report indicates Mack Brown set to step down as Texas coach; Texas promptly denies | Campus Union - SI.com](http://college-football.si.com/2013/12/10/texas-longhorns-mack-brown-report/?eref=sihp)

Mack denies he is stepping down.

Terry and I are very happy in Baton Rouge

Well, to be honest, I wouldn’t have believed THAT. ;)

Hmmmm. So much right now.
Might need to start drinking some Rammer Jammer Beer.

Better check your sources, Eskimojoe. The King’s hanging out with me and Nick at lunch right now, looking trim and fit, sporting Crimson and White. All part of the UH campaign.

TxNewCollegeMom… I have some Jim Beam Black. Delicious, and reasonably priced for the Walmart types like me.

Fort Worth Star Telegram now reporting Saban is the new Texas coach.

And yet another puzzle piece. As a loyal t-sip, I have to say, this has reached the level of embarassing. Mack Brown did a lot for our beloved school, I hate to see him in this situation. That said, these it’s also sad to see these powerhouse coaches stay past their prime, a la Bobby Bowden at my husband’s alma mater. I hope Saban does the right thing when the time comes for him to retire from Bama, does not hang on past his prime, putting everyone in a tough situaiton. In the meantime, here’s hoping Coach Brown is given the space to handle this gracefully…and he does the right thing. Hook 'em, Go 'Noles & Roll Tide!

slippy…do you have a link? I just checked the Star Telegram, didn’t see it

And another puzzle piece, from Austin American Statesman

[Source: Mack Brown has had retirement discussions | Bevo Beat | www.statesman.com](http://www.statesman.com/weblogs/bevo-beat/2013/dec/10/mack-brown-denies-hes-stepping-down/)

This makes me feel a lot better:

[Updates on Nick Saban’s Reported Contract Negotiations with Alabama | Bleacher Report](<a href=“Updates on Nick Saban's Contract Negotiations with Alabama | News, Scores, Highlights, Stats, and Rumors | Bleacher Report”>Updates on Nick Saban's Contract Negotiations with Alabama | News, Scores, Highlights, Stats, and Rumors | Bleacher Report)

Yes, that’s what we’ve been hearing for about a week…a major raise and contract extension.

Although, I have to laugh at all these reports (no matter what they’re saying) all claim to get their info “from a source close to the situation.” With all these folks “close to the situation” Saban must be the biggest blabbermouth in the world…yet we know that he’s not. lol

LOL!!! ^^^^ Not only that, he needs a better realtor that can keep some things confidential. I do not know how many times I’ve heard, “my realtor friend said they were showing Saban houses in Austin”.

Thinking the State of Texas Realtor board would love to know what realtors are out there gabbing about this if they really were showing them houses.

Saban and team have been on the road making in-home visits to recruits:

[RECRUITING: Alabama coaching staff hits the road for in-house visits | TuscaloosaNews.com](http://www.tuscaloosanews.com/article/20131210/NEWS/131209705?p=1&tc=pg)

I’d say the air routes are more indicative of the potential incoming recruits than any coaching change.

^^^

Right. A recruit tweeted that Saban recently arrived at his home in a helicopter.

Pretty amazing recruit if he has his own heliport at his home! ;)

^^
That part wasn’t clear in the tweet. I’m guessing that there was a nearby field or something. Didnt’ sound like this kid’s property had a heliport…lol.

Rumor has it that Saban is negotiating a contract with UA but is waiting to see Texas’s best offer before signing. It looks like Mack is clearing the way.

The rumor of course comes from a reliable source.
