Did you hear about UCR's MYUCR app for iphone??

This should make UCR applicants with iphones and ipods VERY happy.
My UCR Mobile MyUCR:

I hear they are trying to make an Andriod version, too. I don't know about you, but I think this is awesome.

It is definitely convenient for all highlandrs!

So, you guys think this is a good thing? I guess I’m pretty cynical. Why would they be advertising this to people who have applied and who are anxiously waiting for news of their admission status, but instead get announcements about I-phone apps? It seems just plain mean spirited to force students to even sign up for portals and get news as if they are students already–my son has an announcement on his MyUCR that because of his AP test scores he doesn’t have to fulfill some writing requirement and he should see his advisor! He doesn’t have an advisor. He hasn’t even been accepted yet.

I did have some what of a same experience as your son! I did get a notification on my announcement & my heart dropped thinking it was my admission status, but it turns out to be a application advertisement.

I still haven’t recieved my admission status, so I have been checking the app 24/7!

I don’t think its mean at all. This just makes it helpful for students to access their accounts from anywhere at anytime. That’s the purpose. You get notified faster and thus you can make sure you have are going through the admissions process properly!

AND all applicants are assigned advisors. You should contact the admissions office to find out who that is if you are unsure. [Home MyUCR:](http://my.ucr.edu/Pages/default.aspx)
You can find contact info at the bottom!

how can it be a bad thing that they’re using technology to get the word to students faster? they’re way ahead of the other campuses.
