Hi, I was wondering if it is a bad idea to take my portable piano keyboard to college ??
Would other people yell at me if I played it in the dorms?

It depends on where you are going to college... several colleges I know have dozens of practice rooms with pianos that they make available to students. It shouldn't be a problem if you play in your dorm at reasonable hours and at a reasonable volume, but you should check w/ each individual college.

If it's a keyboard, can't you just use headphones?

People always play music in the dorms; I don't see why playing a keyboard would be a problem.

Bring it. Bring headphones.

No one will complain.

how about the space. Would there be enough space to put both a desktop and a keyboard ?? because I like to connect my keyboard to my desktop.

if you want to bring bulky music things, consider lofting your bed high enough to fit this stuff under it, which will save you room.

I've visited a lot of dormrooms and I plan on bringing my keyboard, so I actually checked to see if there's enough room for all of my stuff in each place I visited. I don't think there will be a problem. A lot of the rooms I've seen are very small, but there is always deskspace to play it on and you can stow it in a dresser, closet, or under the bed.

You could also get one like mine with the folding stand. It slides right under a bed or in a closet.
