Did your parents give you 'The Talk'?

in 5th grade we had sxual education
my parents gave me a book in 6th grade
i don’t think any of it really mattered,; it’s not as if i care about that stuff yet

I was also the recipient of a book as opposed to a talk.

Never did. Probably never will.

No. They just assume I learned it somehow. It’s not really an uncomfortable subject with them though.

When I was like 14, and got a physical, the doctor asked my mom if we’d ever had “that talk.” She said no, and he bert-stared her. lol. She told him that he assumed that I’d learn it from my friends. He bert-stared her again. :P

Nope.

When I was a fifth grader, my mom told me to never sleep with my girlfriend if I have one. I was wondering what was wrong with sleeping with her.

And now I realized what she meant: I thought she meant the first definition, not the sexual definition.

^ Your mom told you that in fifth grade? Lmao.

My parents sat me down in front of “The Miracle of Life” when I was three. =)

If you were wondering, that is the video they made you watch in sex ed and everyone went “EWWWWWW.”

^^^Lol, wow…

“But mom, I already did!”

Yeah, I questioned her.

“What’s wrong with sleeping with a girl? It’ll be just her and me with our clothes on in bed, sleeping. I don’t see anything wrong with that.” - Me, as a fifth grader (who did not know that sleep means to have sex).

“Just don’t do that.” - my mom.

Yeah, I started Sex ed this friday. Watched She’s Too Young. Such an overdramatic thing. The entire school had syphilis. They were ■■■■■■■.

You guys had sex ed in school?

My only sex ed was in a Catholic school in 5th grade. They basically told us that if we had sex, our private parts would fall off (not sure how this would work for girls…), we’d die, and go to Hell.

7 out of 20 people in my grade were parents by the time they graduated high school.

lol 35% wow. I bet they were like, you’re going to hell!

I never had any of these talks wih my parents, but I just kinda figured this out on my own I suppose.

^^I think they are already in hell since they have to deal with the stress of school and their own kids and more.

lol just imagine when they go to college. Better hope that there is a university daycare.

I know three of them aren’t going to college. Two of them are at a CC part time. Don’t know about the other 2.

That’s one of the problems with sex ed - demonize sex and teach nothing about it.

And they ask why America has such a high teen pregancy rate…

I think I learned through random small talks over time than one big talk. Around 10-11 ish.

no “talk”, our school took care of it for us when we were 9. I didn’t even get a proper book but if I wanted I could go to “the reproductive system” page in the encyclopaedia. After that initial push I learnt the rest off the net but since then I’ve been really open with my mom about everything, haha despite being Asian. But I still can’t watch sex scenes with my family without getting embarassed.

I think this best describes my situation. Same thing with swearing…it just kind of gradually happened, and now I curse in front of my parents without them batting an eyelid. Actually, they have to let me, because my mom swears a lot around me…
