Didn't notify my school that I was dropping out...

So after taking a semester at Art Center College of Design, I decided that it wasn't the school for me and realized I didn't want to waste any more money (17k per term -_-).
Thing is, I made this decision a little before the semester ended and at first I would miss a couple classes but soon enough I wasn't attending any of my classes at all. Mainly because they have a 3-absences-and-you-fail policy, so I didn't see a point in going anymore.

I didn't notify them of my permanent withdrawal whatsoever; I thought it would be fine. But today I went onto their website and they've written that I need to fill out a notice at their school office. It's too late now, since it's winter break and they're closed - but should I at least email them something? Or?

The reason why I'm not so concerned is because I purposely missed the registration date for my next term, so that should give them a hint right?

Also - what happens to the grants/scholarship that I got at the school? Can I somehow transfer that money to the school I'm entering in the Spring?

Thanks.

Did you pass your courses this past term? If you stopped attending classes…what were your grades this term.

Grants awarded by THIS college cannot be used at another college. You need to apply for aid at the new school. BUT…until you officially withdraw, you are a matriculated student at the art school. You can NOT be a matriculated student at TWO colleges at the same time. So you need to withdraw from that first school.

Have you applied for acceptance to the second school? Did you forward your transcript from the first school? Did you complete the financial aid application forms for this new school?
