Didn't realize Ithaca college was such a good school too and cost as much as CU

I was checking for some courses to take in the summer. Since I'll spend the summer in Ithaca working various jobs, I checked at Cornell's summer sessions site, and Tuition PER CREDIT is about $900 and no finanical aid like grants/scholarship/low-interest loan on that, only some high additional loans and buncha work-studies.

So I thought the summer classes at IC might be much cheaper but it's a private college too and the tuition is set at a at least $860 per credit hour and many classes offered there are 5 credits. Then I checked IC's tuition and room/board and they rival Cornell's at nearly $45,000 a year.

I know a set of identical twin brothers, one twin goes to CU an the other twin bro studies at IC. THey don't get identical education but apparently pay identical prices

It’s not just like that with IC and Cornell. There are TONS of other private schools out there that charge just as much. I guess they have to because of no federal funding.

You may want to look at TC3 (Tomkins County Community College) in Ithaca. I’m sure if you take one or two solid GE classes there for the summer (like chem, econ, calc, etc.), the credits should be transferable. It should be much much cheaper.

ithaca college is an awesome place. i transferred to cornell from there over a year ago. seems to me that you’re trying to insinuate that its ■■■■■■■■ for someone to go to IC as opposed to cornell or another ivy at the same exact price or maybe even lower.

first and foremost, what kind of crack are you smoking?

its not rocket science to suggest that cornell is better than IC. big friggin deal. any schmuck can figure that out. but what you’re implying is that the brother that goes to IC that you spoke of is a complete idiot for a) going to IC and b) for not going to cornell. now theres a million things wrong with that. for instance, lets break down some of the programs. in terms of communications, cornell is abysmal. the park school of communications at IC is top 5 in the entire country. YES i said that right, ithaca college has a top 5 program! cornell may be ivy league and is much more prestigious, but ill tell you what; a kid from park vying for a job in hollywood completely sh1ts on anyone from cornell because of their lack of quality programs in this field. there are other examples of where IC > Cornell, such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, music, and theater. perhaps these examples aren’t pertinent to your own agenda, but that doesn’t mean you can say the same for anyone else that goes to IC or Cornell.

i go to cornell now and in no way am i trying to say IC is better than, or even on par with cornell. what i am saying is that you are a complete idiot with a skewed version of higher education and its relation to the real world. i’d rather you take your summer classes at tc3. tc3 is probably more applicable to where you actually belong from what i gather from your outlandish knock on IC, and you wont be polluting my beautiful campus with your ■■■■■■■■ elitism.

sorry i was biased, but didn’t mean to offend anyone. good comments, though.

Of course the school itself doesnt matter as much as what one studies and how one applies him/herself

Cornell’s Communications major is abysmal? Really?

hyp86 - classy response.

“in terms of communications, cornell is abysmal.”

in your own words, what kind of crack are you smoking?

I get angry on this website a lot, and I can’t figure exactly what was so infuriating about the OP’s thread. I can’t figure out what makes him arrogant or stupid or anything like that. Its barely even biased; I mean, he’s just saying that Cornell is a better college than Ithaca and they cost about the same.

How does this quote imply that the brother that went to IC is an idiot? I’m sorry; I can’t figure it out.

The OP is definitely has much better manners than you. I suppose that means he is elitist. Plus, he just summed up your whole post in one line.

Certainly, some programs at Cornell are better than others, but I don’t see how you can call the communications program ‘abysmal.’

Oh, I think get it. You love Ithaca so you don’t want anyone to insult it. The OP isn’t ■■■■■■■■ or trying to be haughty, you don’t need to start swearing at him.

ithaca college is a liberal arts college…it started out as a film or music school…it’s still good at that but ithaca college is NY’s biggest private college (non-university).

i would rather go to a school like colgate, etc…ithaca college is known to be a bit whorish…few asians too!

^ “a bit whorish?” What does that mean? Are there prostitutes roaming the campus or something? You better hope the other guy doesn’t come back to this thread.

by whorish i mean…i hear ithaca college girls go over easy for cornell guys…i mean ithaca college girls are hotter than cornell girls…

so maybe whorish was the wrong word…let’s go with HOT ^_^

Hey, that doesn’t sound too bad. Maybe IC is better than Cornell. lol :)

ajp87 - I just feel compelled to second butterbattle’s response.

You obviously possess some degree of both self-identity with Ithaca College (“my beautiful campus” even though you don’t go there anymore) and frustration over the inferiority complex given to Ithaca College from the other hill.

You therefore injected a whole slew of insinuations and slanders into the OP that were never there. Read it again.

oh, never knew they cost the same amount of money
