So, basically, I said that I would send a arts supplement slideroom to almost every university I applied. However, for some reason, I wrote in my notes that the slideroom supplement deadline was 1 of Feb… and it was 1 of Jan for most universities (I feel so stupid, really). I tried to send it and noticed and the option dissapeared… Is there any way to correct this? maybe I still can send them? or do I call the university and say that I will not submit anything? I feel so stupid for missing the deadline.
Unlike the Common App Slideroom closes at its deadline. It even counts down to the second for you. Once it’s closed it’s closed. I would contact your schools and see if you can email them your supplements or set up a website with them. I would be prepared for them to tell you no though since reviewing arts supplements takes extra time. Good luck!
@CathJR I can totally understand that, it was my fault. But in case they tell no, do you think that it might hurt my chances of being admitted?
It’s not related to your intended studies? If not, in my opinion, they would not think much if it.
Depends on the program you were applying to. If you were applying to something like the fine arts or film it would be hard to evaluate your application without the supplements. If it was just extra to demonstrate one of your hobbies I wouldn’t think so. I’m not an expert, but if it’s not required for your major and it’s not your hook I wouldn’t think so. Definitely email though!
If it was just as additional information I would set up a google site with a clean look and upload your artwork and attach the link in the email. Say you’re sorry you missed the deadline and if they would still view your supplements you have them attached for their convenience.
@HRSMon I told that I was going to course Economics/Undecided in most of the cases, and even for the “undecided” ones I have expressed in my essays that I would probably study Sciences or Business. So, it isn’t that much of a deal? Is it a good idea anyway to ask if they can accept my supplement? And if not, ask them if they can update my application and say that I won’t be uploading anything?
Sorry for asking so much, I am just really nervous about that.
It’s fine to ask. It will be fine. Don’t panic:)
Definitely ask! There’s no harm in doing so! It shows you still care about your application. It’ll work out either way!
@CathJR sorry for bringing this up again, but you said “There’s no harm in doing so! It shows you still care about your application.” The fact that I didn’t submit the Slideroom supplement wouldn’t do the same? but against me? Sorry again, nervousness attacking hehe
Well again I am no expert, but I think it’s better to follow up than not.
