Difference between Biochemistry and Biomedical engineering

Can someone explain to be the difference between these two majors?

Biochemistry is the study of chemical and processes in our bodies. As far as I know, biomedical engineering is biochemistry plus the application of engineering. I hope this helps- I believe that biomedical engineering is just a more specific branch of biochemistry.

While there are exceptions, generally an engineering degree is more focused on making “things”. For example, tissue engineering is a big area in biomedical engineering. Science degrees are more oriented toward understanding the mechanisms of Nature.
