Difference between D.O and M.D

<p>I know this has been addressed many times, but I am still unclear.</p>

<p>Can you get a residency or internship at a good hospital with a DO or do you need a MD?</p>

<p>Are there such things as Osteopathic hospitals?</p>

<p>1.) MD-residencies are open to applicants from DO programs as well. Whether this is practical or not, I don't know.</p>

<p>2.) There are DO-only residencies.</p>

<p>Is it essentially the same thing or are DOs looked down upon? (Salary-wise and opportunity-wise)</p>
