Hello,

I'm looking at two different colleges right now (bachelor's), and one offers a straight up Accounting major, while the other only offers a "Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Finance".

I'm wondering what is the difference? And which would be better for becoming an accountant?

Well, the Accounting one would, because if you are looking to become an Accountant I assume you are going to get certified and sit for the CPA Exam correct? Then you want the Accounting degree so you can fulfill the education requirements to sit for the CPA Exam.

Depends on what type of Accountant you are looking to become as well, if you plan on working in the corporate world and being a Management Accountant, then you would go for the CMA.
