Difficulty of Economics/Math classes at Berkeley

I got into UC Berkeley, and I really want to attend, but I am a bit apprehensive about grade deflation. I'm applying to graduate school after undergrad, so I need to maintain a top gpa. I'm a great math student, and I took the AMC and AIME in high school. How difficult are the math and econ classes in your opinion?

Difficulty of advanced math courses is very much a personal thing. The top students in math do not find them to be that difficult (even honors courses or graduate level courses). But some other students struggle, especially with proof oriented courses once you reach the upper division level.

The math-oriented economics courses (e.g. 101A) should not be that difficult for someone who likes math and is good at it.

Most math and economics courses are not as time consuming as lab courses or computer science courses with programming assignments.
