What does the program look for in prospective students? I'm interested in DMD, but I can't find much on what the program looks for in a suitable student. What classes should I take? What type of grades are they looking for? What is the acceptance rate of the program? Not many people are in the program I noticed. Approx 10-14 for each year. Is this because not a lot of people apply or because not a lot of people are accepted?

I know some of these questions were asked in other posts, but none of the answers were that informative.

Thank you for any info you may give.

bump 10 char

bump can someone please answer???

Now I’m just an incoming freshman who really really wanted DMD, but at least its a free bump.

This article: [Creative students combine art, tech | The Daily Pennsylvanian](http://www.dailypennsylvanian.com/article/creative-students-combine-art-tech)
says last year 80 people applied. You already know that only 15-20 are accepted.

Here’s their course plan: http://cg.cis.upenn.edu/images/DMD_CPG_2008.pdf</a>

Because there’s Math104, I’d say take Calc BC. Also there are a bunch of fine arts courses, so A.P. Studio Art. Take any computer programming or computer graphics classes your school offers. For the sciences, your best bet would be psychology, though you’d have to take at least one of physics, chem, or bio so it’s not as big a deal.

I’d say they’d be pretty impressed if you could animate something. Or at least draw storyboards/ comics. Upload those things as your art supplement in the Common App. Also make sure you’re in the art/ film/ animation club in your school.

Thank you very much!

Just to get it straight, you don’t NEED an art portfolio for your application? It’s just recommended right?

Well, no such requirement existed on the Penn supplement for Fall 2011, so I’m assuming not.

But I’d really really strongly recommend it. ^^

Check 2012’s supplement. You could also contact:
