Dilema with a car choice...

Since I got 2200 on my SAT, my parents are getting me a car :D It's between Mini Cooper S with standard options or Scion Tc with full options.... whadda ya guys think?

Mmmm... Get the one with the better gas mileage. Seems mundane, but if you can't make a decision, that seems like a good way.

i heard someone died in a mini cooper in just a minor accident cuz its small
id say the scion

I agree with the gas mileage thing. Plus, small cars = have to give fewer rides. Unless if most of your friends have cars anyway.

BUT imo the Cooper looks plan stupid so get the Scion.

As far as gas mileage goes, there isn't a whole lot of difference between the two. However, Scions were designed to be cheap and customizable. If you want to be able to customize yours, then get the Scion. They are put out by Toyota which produces good vehicles in general. I have a friend who has a Scion and loves it.

I like the design of the Scion much better, and it seems liek you'll be getting more options with it. I think the mini has a distinct style, and if you were the kind of person who was into it, you'd already love it and want it and this wouldn't be a tough decision.

Mini coopers are cute!

you cant get a normal car like an accord?

If the standard option/full option is referring to manual/automatic transmission (there are so many different words for it I can't keep track) then I'd probably go for the mini cooper just because of that. I drive a stick and I love it. If it weren't for that, I'd go with the Scion, just because I don't like the style of the mini cooper.

whoa...sweet. I wish my parents rewarded me like that for high SAT scores...the extent of it was taking me to McDonalds or the Chinese buffet.

Are you planning to use the car in college, or will it just sit home alone? If you're going to use it forever, you'd be best off getting the one with more safety features.

haha the extent of my score on the SATs was "congrats, that should help you out a bit, eh?"

The tC is a GREAT car. Friend has it like fully loaded. Great bargin. Cant go wrong.

both of these cars seem so fruity. why are those your choices?

Of the two, I'd take the tC (more reliable, looks better, infinitely better interior ergonomics, more options). I'd rather have a Mazda3, though (more doors, better interior and looks still).

I'd love to get a new car for a 2200 on the SAT, but I'll have to tolerate my '98 Buick Regal for a couple of years. At least it isn't as much of a loss as something newer if stolen (the Central Valley is terrible for auto theft).

Ok, scions are badass, customizable, and mechanics will raise prices if you roll in with a mini.

I got high SAT scores...my parents' reactions: "Why did you miss a question on Writing?! And five on CR?!!!!!" Gah, Asians...

Take the one with the better gas mileage, as everyone before me said.

haha, thanks for the inputs... and the reason why i posted those two cars is because i like small cars....well, if you have any other recommendations, please feel free to reply :)
and as for senator noodles, yea, i know, my parents are asians as well...exactly why they are getting me a car for 2200,hehe

Scions are absolutely horrible. What a lame engine.

Mini-cooper S all the way... such a spirited little engine.

You only live once... **** gas mileage.

"I heard from a friend's brother's cousin's aunt's coworker's niece that..."

Hearsay shouldn't be relied upon for safety. I mean, people still continue to think that Civics are unsafe because they're small despite massive piles of evidence otherwise.

Hmm...the Cooper doesn't seem that unsafe to me.

get the mini, its just so cool.

if you got that much cash to burn tho, just get a nice cheap japanese car.
