Dining Hall Job

From what I've read from older threads, it seemed like the only thing you had to do to get a job at a dining hall was go and give them your schedule. So I figured it would be pretty easy to get a job...

But now there's an application asking for things like previous work experience and I admittedly don't have much. I submitted 4 apps last quarter, to CV, Earl's, Goody's, and Pines, and didn't get a response from any of them. Is it supposed to be this hard? What should I do? Submit another one?

If I can't even get a job at a dining hall, what else can I do? I mean, this is kind of the lowest tier here. And I'm really not picky at all; I don't even mind working weekends or night shifts. I just want a job :(

Help/advice?

Learn some skills. If you have experience programming, fixing computers, being in a lab, etc it’s very easy to get a job that pays at least $12/hour.

How hard would it be to get a job with the admissions office?

hmmm maybe u have to stop being so mercurial?

haha jk :stuck_out_tongue: i think u should just talk to the manager at cv, hes really chill and u can tell him that u sent in all these apps but never received a response. he’ll help u out

yay ~first post~ as it is relevant to me.

Dining hall jobs is the easiest jobs to get on campus, as you don’t need previous experience or anything. You should go straight to the dining hall you want to work and ask for the student manager or manager, as your applications might be ending in one of the piles… I know Pines is hiring currently (pretty sure).
I must add that you might want to look into other jobs on port triton, as dining hall jobs are the one of the lowest paying jobs on campus ($8.64 first quarter, $9.24), and kind of a lot of work compared to office jobs. But the free meal is nice.
