Direct Entry Physician Assistant Program

Hello,
I am a current high school junior looking to apply to some 5-year direct entry physician assistant programs during the start of my senior year. I attend a private high school in MA which is seen as a pretty good one. Some of the schools I am looking to apply to are Daemen college, DeSales, Gannon and a few others. I was just wondering if some who had previous experience with the process could fill me in on my chances.

Stats-
Current unweighted GPA- (94%), which is like a 3.9. Weighted is around 5.0
SAT- 1290
ACT- 27

Classes- 2- AP courses and the rest are honors ( AP’s are calc and chemistry) These are the classes I will be taking next year, as they are already set, but currently I have 1- AP and the rest are honors courses.

Extracurriculars/ Other- ( This is where I really fall short)
2 years of cross-country (Freshman an sophomore year)
1 Year of swimming ( Junior year)
Current member of NHS
Few hours in short reading club
Scuba diving club(outside of school)
First aid/ CPR certified
2-year working at Dunkin Donuts
1- Year landscaping
20 hours of direct patient contact at a local hospital
2 PA shadows.

I know my stats aren’t that great, but was just curious how I might stack up against other applicant. I am looking for realistic and strait forward answers from anyone willing to contribute.

Thank you.

I have not heard of those schools you mentioned, that means the schools are less known and less competitive. You should be able to get in some of them with your stats. However, a lot of the PA programs require certain medical related ECs to be accepted such as clinical volunteering and or shadowing, please make sure you have completed their requirements.

I think you have a good chance.
