Discussion of RD decisions (was: official harvard decisions class of 2013)

^brilliant

I think the essays "prompt," as it were, should prompt people for both their subjects and their general quality. Too often, people just put "good," or "great," or "Hella f****** awesome," which aren't helpful at all.

I agree... revising the form is a great idea.

Just making sure I know how to do the forms, because I do not want to screw this up on March 31st. By the way, those are no where near my scores. I wish.

Crap, I forgot a space already. Just Corrected It. I fail

You can also preview your posts before submitting them.

EVERYONE:

would it be possible to put something about what other colleges applicants were accepted/rejected at in the decision template, when the actual thread is made? this could be helpful in determining the nuances of what harvard looks for in applicants as opposed to other schools.

It can just be an addition that asks people to list the other schools they got accepted to. Like this:

[ *] Where else were you accepted (List all):

yeah exactly. could whoever ends up making/finalizing the template do that?

and probably

[ *] Where else were you accepted/rejected/waitlisted (List all):

since rejections/waitlistings provide valuable info too

Since when were there on-campus interviews and additional interviews?

Also it's a pity that all the Ivy's release decisions on the same day because you could totally start a scare by making threads that say decisions are up early. It's been done before, and it's worked (you can tell based on how many hate responses are made).

orangutan, dbate, great idea! i also encourage anybody else to practice like waitn did, to make the official thread the best thread ever woot woot

i think im going to stick closer to the original format compared to the one Mal77 created - seeing Arch3r25 use it, it looks too messy (as in, there are too many things in parenthesis before you can even read the answers). but the additional ideas are good.

how about adding some questions that Harvard asked on their application, like where you lived or how many languages you spoke, and elaborating on the essay section, since that is really important

maybe briefly describe what you wrote about for your essay(s)

Hey guys, wanna see a magic trick?

BOOM! No more idiots forgetting to remove the spaces. Cafesimone, if you want me to send you the code of how I did this, PM me your email (it's kinda hard to post here). I feel this development will really set the Harvard thread apart from the threads on enemy forums.
