Thank you both, that is helpful. Just heard I can't reschedule work, so will have to arrive a bit late anyway (and will miss initial overview, which could transform the event into a pure 'college fair' -- and have definitely been there, done that).

i was not impressed with the CTCL presentation
the speaker was excellent but the content was ...ordinary
she spent a lot of time with cool intro/ice breaker gimicks and then- well there really wasn't anything else-
no real pitch about how theses college change lives

the admin reps at the fair afterwards didn't really seem to have a clue that they were CTCL- it was mostly all the same BLAH BLAh as most college fairs are- exception: College of Wooster and St. Olafs, but only b/c the admin reps were high energy promoter

this was not worth the drive when we made it

i say skip it and really study the websites instead

honestly i love the idea of CTCL but not the admissions fair to promote them.

Thank you, jbrown! That's the 3rd or 4th 'probably not worth it;' it would really be helpful not to waste 4-5+ hours. Hopefully son could do some volunteer work today instead!!

I thought that Brown put on a horrible presentation. At the admissions office, they didn't keep tabs on who had visited versus those who had not. The info session was dry and boring. My poor sister had to sit through it. I was also hard to hear the tour. I really thought I was going to like the school. Oh well?
